  • Brief description: A water-damaged MacBook with no power was brought in for repair. Apple had given the customer an estimate of �900 for the job. We left it overnight in our ultrasonic cleaner, and then checked out the motherboard and completed a complex diagnosis using our oscilloscope. We replaced the SMC chip, the power charging chip and some small components, and now it�s alive! Our customer was delighted with our charge of only �90, including a 6-months warranty � a tenth of the cost of an Apple repair!
